I got to do some excavation in Sicalpa today. We found lots of pottery, bone, and charcoal and are still excavating in the Republican¨period today which is about 50-60 cms below ground surface. Tomorrow we will get into the Colonial period which begins at about 60cms and will have some architectural features in it based on the earlier auger tests. Yesterday I walked around town with Jose Luis who interpreted for me as we tried to get the floatation machine built so I can start finding seeds. We found someone to make it for us and I will be able to look at it on Friday and make any changes. Then we went to the University and talked with a man at the herbarium. He helped us identify several weed species that are associated with agriculture so I will know what kind of seeds I'm finding. Thats all for now. Hasta luego. -- Andrea
