Andrea in Ecuador

¡Buenos días, mis amigos!

We had no problems with the flights or luggage. Claudine and I met up with Eve without any trouble and our hotel is pretty comfortable for Ecuador. Even a shower with hot water! I slept only about 2.5 hours during my 30 hour travel period to get here but last night I got several hours of sleep from midnight to about 9 am. The bed is very firm. Very. We have had a great breakfast at one of Eve's favorite places and now we are going to walk around old town. We may go to a museum today and do some window shopping. We have met one of the local chicos (about 4 years old) begging for money from us on the street. Pretty sad but reminds me of Mexico. Claudine wants to stick around here until Saturday so we can go to one of the big markets. Then I think we will ride the train instead of the bus to Riobamba (probably Sunday). A woman on the plane told us this was the most scenic way to see the mountains that we will be going through. Not much else to report at this point. My head is still a bit foggy. I will probably take a nap today. -- Andrea
